I ask myself this question and two things come to mind.
First, I remember the days when I did IT Consulting and Support. I would put data backup systems in place that would get used for the first week or the first month and then nobody would change the tape and the backups quickly became dated and useless. Well, one thing would lead to another and someone would delete some important files, or a hard drive would crash, or any number of things would lead to data loss.
